Please review the Assumptions Post, paragraph #1 We must have a valid understanding of Truth.  If you don’t believe the Bible is God’s Word and the only place to get Truth, then none of this will make sense.

Truth #1 – All human beings have been born with a sin problem inherited from Adam.A  Because of that sin problem from birth, God’s Word tell us that none of us is righteous and that we have all sinned.B  The penalty for the sin we have is Death.C  Without removing the sin problem in our life, there is absolutely no way we can ever be with our Holy God in Heaven someday.

Truth #2You CANNOT cure your sin problem.     Religion won’t cure it.  The Bible tells of a gentleman named NicodemusD who was very, very religious.  He celebrated the Passover, paid tithes, said prayers, brought sacrifices and tried to keep the Law.  Jesus told him “It wasn’t enough.”     Morality won’t cure it.  More than likely Nicodemus wasn’t a crook, a drunkard or a gambler but was a man of clean morals.  Jesus told him, “It wasn’t enough.”     Reformation won’t cure it.  You can change your life completely and fill it with good works.  You can quit all your meanness, your bad attitudes, your lying and your gossiping and Jesus will still tell you like he told Nicodemus, “That’s not enough; you simply must be Born Again.”

Truth #3God has provided the ONLY cure for your Sin Problem.E  He has given His only Son, Jesus Christ, as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the entire world.F  This was the only payment God would accept for our debt of sin.  We owed a debt we could not pay while Jesus paid a debt He did not owe.  God’s requirement for our sin was the blood sacrifice of a Perfect Lamb, the Lamb of God.G  When Jesus died on the Cross, He said, “It is finished.”  This included the total forgiveness of all our past, present and future sins.  The Perfect Sacrifice had been provided as the sins of the world were reconciled, paid up, through the Cross of Calvary.  To prove that the sin question was settled to God’s satisfaction, three days after Jesus was buried, He rose from the dead and was seen by many witnesses in Jerusalem.H  That resurrection is what enables Christ and the Holy Spirit to give to Believers, newness of Life and the power over sin.I

Truth #4 – This free gift MUST BE RECEIVED.J  It is not automatically applied to any individual or all individuals.  God has provided the way to free us from our Sin Debt.  We must choose to receive this Free Gift, through Faith in believing it is actually true.    Ephesians 2:8-9 says, 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves,it is the gift of God;9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Truth #5 – You now have a decision to make!  You have been presented with an opportunity to accept or reject this finished work of Christ as complete payment for the sin debt you owe.  You can’t “try it”, you can’t “partially” accept it, nor can you “fake it.”  You must be ready to genuinely trust your life to the One who died for you on the Cross and be ready to embrace what God says He did through His Son.  Are you ready to believe the truth of His Word and turn from your old way of thinking?  Now you will actually make one of these decisions today.  If you are “not quite ready” to trust Christ’s work at Calvary, you will have decided to reject this Free Gift of God’s Amazing Grace for you.  However, if you have believed and genuinely trusted Christ’s completed work on the Cross to take away your sins, you are a truly Born Again Christian.

Truth #6 – If you decided to genuinely accept this free gift, since Jesus did 100% of what was required, you didn’t have anything to physically do with obtaining it, therefore, you can’t physically do anything to lose it.  This is an unconditional gift given by our Father to you and He will never take it away.K
