So, if Christ is our Life, and He is definitely Victorious – it stands the logical test that God’s Normal for us would be Christ Active In Us – Victorious.
God’s Abnormal would be living a defeated and depressed life. From God’s Divine Viewpoint of what He has made possible for us, a defeated Christian is almost a monstrosity. He is definitely abnormal. Now, since 1) Christ resides in us [Romans 8.11], 2) Christ lives through us [Galatians 2.20] and 3) Christ is victorious [1Corinthians 15.57], then backsliding and carnality are not only inexcusable but incompatible with a Normal Christian Experience.
Let’s review what Jesus said in John 15.5: I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. All the things done apart from Christ – that is, done in our ‘flesh’ – account for nothing. Anything of any spiritual value to us is done by Christ in us.
Let’s try to always remember that Christ Himself is our Victory. Now the question is, “Do we believe it?” Or maybe the question should be, “Do we even want to believe it – or are we more inclined (with our own self-effort) to achieve the victory our self?”
