Q#2 Is a Victorious Life Possible?

QuesA

So we’ve discovered a Victorious Life is very simply, a Person.  It is literally Jesus Christ Himself.  The moment we trusted Christ’s completed work on the Cross, we actually received Him and were sealed with the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity.

So, when we received Christ, how much of Him did we get?  Have you heard of any Bible verse indicating He will only partially enter in?  Absolutely not!  You received 100% of Him.

Now, exactly Who is this Person we have received?  In Matthew 28.18 Jesus Himself told us “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” and Colossians 2.9 tells us “in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.”  Wow, the mighty triumphant Christ, the omnipotent Son of God actually abides in the heart of the Believer by the blessed Holy Spirit.

Is it possible this Victorious Life for which we are struggling could actually be available in us?  In answering this question, please review the following Bible verses to see if you come to the same answer I did:

Matthew 1.21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Romans 6.14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 7.24-25 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?   Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!  So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

Romans 8.2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

1Corinthians 15.57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Corinthians 2.14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

Here is my answer: since Christ is our life and His life is definitely a victorious one, we have received all the potentialities of Complete Victory the very moment we received Him.  Therefore, we come to our first resolution a Victorious Life is possible for every Believer, not because of us but because Christ Himself has entered the truly Born Again Believer.

  1. I like your thoughts! Thanks for using scripture to remind us of where the truth actually comes from! The booklet None but the Hungry Heart has been reeally good this week about focusing on knowing Jesus. Today (the 20th) says “Association with the Son of Man…develops my new nature.” So I am wondering if the victorious life comes from keeping Jesus as the focus of my life – my every thought. I know I am no where close to “perfect” but often don’t think of Jesus and His life in me until after my issue/wrong response. Are my thoughts on the right track?
