God’s Word tells us just the opposite. “If you refuse to agree with the fact that there is vice and self-seeking, something downright spiteful and wrong in human beings, instead of reconciling yourself to it, when it strikes your life, you will compromise with it and say it is of no use to battle against it.” If your child’s boyfriend or girlfriend thinks they can “handle” sin by their very nature and character, they will be caught off guard and the consequences can be devastating. Better to have a suitor who understands the capability of their flesh and cultivates and depends on their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ to maintain their purity.
